Meet The Team

Co-Founder Voices for Seniors

Vivian Zayas

Vivian Zayas, lost her mother Ana Martinez while receiving care at Our Lady of Consolation in West Islip, NY.  What was supposed to be a 3 to 4 week say was prolonged while waiting for more home care options.  The loss of her mother has spurred her to pursue the protection of other vulnerable seniors in her mothers honor.

Co-Founder Voices for Seniors

Alexa Rivera

Alexa Rivera, is the sister of Vivian Zayas and shared the loss of her mother, Ana Martinez.  Upon hearing that their mother had suddenly passed away Alexa spurred into action trying to warn other family members of the conditions that led to their mother's death.  Their mother was their example of strength, and they want nothing more than to display the same strength they learned from their mother in their advocacy pursuits.

Director Voices for Seniors

Tracey Alvino

Tracey Alvino lost her father, Daniel Alvino while receiving physical therapy at Our Lady of Consolation in West Islip, NY.  Her father was released out the rehabilitation wing with active Covid.  Her entire family contracted Covid and the losses were almost compounded.  Unfortunately, Daniel did not make it.  Tracey has been a force in the advocacy of seniors since his passing.

Board Member Voices for Seniors

Grace Colucci

Grace Colucci lost her father John Daly after contracting Covid at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Commack, NY.  Mr. Daly fought incredibly hard but lost his battle with Covid 19 at home after being transferred.  Grace has used her legal background to help advocate for her father and the many seniors who presently do not have a voice.

Voices for Seniors was born from unimaginable heartbreak—the loss of our beloved grandparents, parents, siblings, and spouses in nursing homes during the earliest and most uncertain days of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a bid to protect the vulnerable, nursing homes closed their doors to families. While this decision was made with caution, its consequences were devastating.

As the virus spread, silence and secrecy prevailed. Leaders withheld vital information, and facilities left families in the dark. By the time the full, tragic truth emerged, it was often too late: countless lives had been lost—many of them needlessly.

Out of our grief, we found purpose. Voices for Seniors stands with grieving families, channeling heartbreak into action. We fight relentlessly for justice, transparency, and reform to ensure that the elderly and nursing home residents are not only protected but treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Our mission is clear: to honor the memory of those we’ve lost by demanding accountability today and safeguarding the lives of tomorrow’s seniors.
